another problem today, was driving the disco and it lost all power, i managed to keep it going in first and crawl round corner then stop. it started again but the oil light flashed, this happened once again in the street were i crawled home in first. it started but oil light flashed on start up???:(

ive just went out, checked oil and its at max. she started up ol with no oil light flash.. i dont want to drive incase it happens again

edit: spoke to previous owner, said its over due a oil change/ service


edit: not sure if its any help, the fuel level isnt much above the red, light isnt on

i put a can of fuel in, about £7 worth. that took it to were it is in vid, think it will need more?

hope it worked out alright and you aren't stuck ;)

i'd give it half a tank, proly needs new filters too.
 
took it for a drive, also put more fuel in and its been ok. looks like its the pick up in tank? or could it be filter? glad the oil light hasnt flashed again, had me thinking worst.. service is at top of list to do, then try catch up with the other stuff
 
Check all the fuel pipe for leaks, having almost no fuel in the tank will make the lift pump work harder and this would make a small hole pull air into the system, that small hole may not cause any problems when the tank is fuller.

The first place I'd check is the steel pipe on the top of the fuel sender.
 
Service it asap! good oil, new filters and throw in some injector cleaner or 2 stroke.
Never good running fuel really low/ when moving fuel slosh can mean air getting in the system as well as all the crap, ****e and water drops in the tank getting sucked through.
 
do you guys use land rover service parts or pattern? what oil would you recommend, ive googled it and getting different results.
