Hi All,
I am considering buying a 2 door rangie but they seem to be a bit scarce nowadays
. I viewed a restored one in about 2002 for a friend of mine, for the money (£1400) it was in fantastic condition and he had a good two years motoring before trading it in for a Rover 400
due to the petrol costs. I'm not looking for anything perfect, but in good steel work condition, the one thing that drew me to the one I viewed in 02 was the new footwells, new tailgate and new rear inner arches.
There don't seem to be any 2 door cars in Autotrader and ebay offers only 'basket cases'. Where would you chaps recommend looking? Obviously a tax exempt vehicle would be great but any 70's 2 door would be fine, so long as it hasn't been chopped about or disolved back to iron oxide!!
My plan is to drop in a reconditiond V8 that I have in the shed along with a ZF HP22 autobox and LPG kit, that should make it into the car my 1966 Series 2 has always strived to be! The 1976 Series 3 will go in part exchange or just to fund the purchase.
Thanks
Alastair
