Arse!
It runs lovely, pulls like a train. It was a second hand engine I put in a while back, I have only just got the thing running properly.
Injectors are fine, they have been reseated with new washer, new feed pump, new filters and oil , timing seems fine but I did try adjusting it with no joy, its had a new belt recently. It didn't do it with the old engine in.
It vibrates , rattles the body work and windows, I have adjusted the idle to speed it up as far as I can go without being silly about it, its not the exhaust because I can see the engine vibrating, any ideas?
Its not smoking unless its cold where it will put out some white smoke but this soon clears.

No, the engine mounts have been on there for a good 7 or 8 years now but I will check them later today if I get a chance.
I don't use cheap pattern parts.

Just a quick test, take the fan off and run the engine to see if the vibes go away.

LOL, try it with a fan on then ... ;)

Is it actually running on all four when idling? Why won't the timing adjust? That's be the next thing I'd have looked at and adjusted one way or the other. Is it idling too slowly? Mine did but it was _only just_ too slow until adjusted properly via the FIP, not just the throttle cable or stop .. took me a while to figure that one out. (I have a manual, but it's still pretty clean) ;)

Mine used to be a bit erratic. Turned out someone had 'adjusted' the idle with the throttle end stop. Reset it using the actual idle speed screw (turn that up, turn down the end stop) and it's much more stable as it's now using the idle governor.

Where is that then? I didn't use the cable stop, I used the little screw spring thingy to the left of the cable stop, on top of the pump.

That's it.

Why can't the timing be adjusted?

I had a look at the mounts this morning , buggered.
How I missed them when I put the engine in I don't know.
