My 90 has managed to lose the rear-most section of the exhaust- just the bent section after the rear silencer. Really it was inevitable given its location right in the path of road spray from the rear wheel. The rest of the pipework seems fine. So currently it's blasting out at the mud flap and covering it in soot.

Aside from welding a new bit of pipe on or replacing the section, are there any alternative arrangements out there? I've seen a couple of 90s with a side-exit exhaust which seems like a better routing away from road spray. Although presumably you'd lose that second silencer and so increase the noise levels a bit. Seems like now's the time to make changes if I'm ever going to as I suspect I'll need a new section anyway.

Don't buy Britpart, why are folk surprised when they shop for cheap and buy often? My exhaust is a good 5 years old and still looks good.

Stainless on my 200, which I think is same exact set up as the 19j, was on car when I bought it over 4 years ago and its still good, as you would expect really!
I think its a Janspeed one.

In a moment of inspiration this afternoon, I came up with a temporary solution. The problem was the hot exhaust gas was aiming directly at the mud flap and was in danger of melting it.

The solution? Take the mud flaps off! Not sure if I prefer the appearance or not, but now the exhaust gas is free to go straight back without anything being in its path. The exhaust pipe itself is still secure enough (apart from missing a small piece off the end) but a new pipe is on the to-do list regardless.
