1999 Dse Auto Box Gone, Again.

Hi Guys. Please Could Any Of You Clever People Tell Me If An Auto Box Out Of A 4.0l Se Fit My Dse, As Someone Tells Me It Will Fit No Problem?? I Just Can't Afford To Go Buying One If It Is Wrong, And Breakers Will Probably Tell Me It Fits Just So They Can Sell Me A Gearbox!! Thank You For Your Time, And Hope Someone Can Help Me, As Our Family Has No Car This Xmas And New Year. All The Best To You All For 2009, Paul

Would have thought the box out of a petrol would be completely wrong for a diesel as the change points are going to be different.
Best ask Ashcroft Transmissions & see what they say. Give them a ring.

the 4.0 and the 2.5 both share the same gearbox, the ZF4HP22 so I would think that one from a 4.0 would work. I guess you might have to change the bell housing over etc. As suggested above it might be best to give a gearbox specialists a ring to see what they think.
