Having seen an ad for another Disco on this site I hope it is OK to put this here.
If you have just read my post about engine speed sensors then you will have a flavour of the vehicle.
It is a 96 (P plate) 300TDi that has covered 173,000 miles and is an auto.
With the exception of a smoke problem that has now been cured it has proved a very reliable vehicle - I bought it at 65,000 miles.
It is a 5 door with roof rails and twin sun roofs. The tyres are good -spare new, fronts replaced December and rears not much before that.
It is a mid blue metalic and still looks good.
The problem with it is that it has started to slip in 2nd speed occassionally, but then stops and drives OK.
I took it to a gearbox specialist who drove it who commented that it drove very well for its mileage.
It was due to make a trip to the south of France. I could not get it fixed in time and was prepared to take it - on the basis that it would be in top gear most of the time. However, the OH was not keen on this so we bought another vehicle.
Thoughts are it would be easier to sell as it is otherwise put a recon box in and sell it then.
I am looking for £800 as it is.
