Hi People, back again (bad penny?o_O) SRS light was on when purchased nearly 2 years ago and was still on when I took her for her first MOT in donkeys, the tester was a Landy fan and ignored a 27 year old light, there's now a new tester and he is not! :(. Once he saw the SRS light he got out the fine tooth comb, bugger!!. I know from previous plays that it's not a bulb I can take out, it's an in-line LED . Anyway, I have no garage to work on the car so, need a fix until next summer when I can play again, seen many ideas for Disco's and P38's but not Classics, help needed please. I did check with another tester at another garage and he confirmed the new tester was right but pointed out that if the bulb wasn't working, that's a different matter, it then becomes an advisory not a major defect. He also said he's heard of people who have scraped a bit off the PCB to stop the illumination, any thoughts on that scenario? Thanks in advance, Peanuts

I'd be inclined to do a bit of scraping and go back to the second guy, you can always reinstate the PCB when the weather gets better.;)

Looking like that's the way to go guys, thank you. Just got to get the damned instrument panel out lol:D
Just a thought, been doing a bit more reading, does the fact that I don't have dash board light for the seatbelt mean I could have a faulty seat sensor, does that effect the SRS?

If the lamp does not light when the ignition is turned on, it may be more than advisory.

Any fault in the system will light the lamp. On many cars there are 2 bulbs, if one fails the other will stay on. Don't know if that is the case on your car.

It seems to be a 50/50 split over those who say it would be an advisory and those who say no light, no pass, anyone know where I can get a definitive answer please?
Mine does has 2 'bulbs' Datatek, one on, one flashing.
