Hi all,
I've just replaced the zenith carb/inlet/exhaust manifold with an ACR engineering SU carb + the other bits. Problem I've got is that the steering lock choke cable that reaches as far as a Zenith carb isn't long enough to get to the SU on its new inlet manifold. Currently I've got a cable connected that terminates in the engine compartment. Handy when you're playing around with engine but not too good if you want to drive it somewhere on a cold frosty morning :-((
I've heard that the "standard" choke cable is longer, so thinking that I might have to ignore the current one and fit a standard one.
Can anyone tell me how long a Series III non steering lock ( does it exist?) choke cable might be (Bulkhead to end) ? Also, been browsing the series part number PDFs and seem to have found everything except the choke cable(s) so if someone has a part number that would be great
Finally, noticed on ebay that you can get a defender 2.5 petrol choke cable, just wondering if that might be longer
