Can the early series 3 rear tank fit on a later series 3?

I imagine it's just the sender thats different in the early and late?

A mate has a good early tank and sender and before I buy it, just need to know if they didn't change the chassis design or something stupid.

Also - do you need any additional brackets or does the tank just fit onto the chassis directly?
(the reason I'm asking about brakets is my 109 doesn't have a rear tank at mo)

Thanks

if its for a rear tank then the front of the tank hangs orf a small cross member type thingy, yer can make one outta a lump of angle iron. yer also gonna need to find some 1/'" thick rubber to make the insulation mounts that fit between the tank and the chassis

thanks super-slob, without you the forum would truly go astray!

you reckon some old polybuses cut in half would work as the rubbery things - did that on my 90s tank and it worked a treat - I imagine its the same set up, a bolt thru a bit of rubber? Really should get a parts catalogue, think I'll go have a look on ebay

yer wasting yer time looking fer the rubber bits at any of the usual suspects, but aye some cut down bushes will do the trick. its just to stop the thing rattling loose. ah used an old grout squegee thing
