1 week into defender ownership (wheels)

Hi,

Well got my insurance sorted £150 couldnt believe it ! Then ordered some new wheels and tyres trbo dakars on modulars.Totaly transforms it, and glad to see the back of the old steel wheels.

Also cleaned most of the old underseal off today and applied a new coat of waxoyl.Noticed the front outrigger may need replaced repared before the next mot but thats not for 12 months! Also painted the back cross member.

Just waiting on some black chequer plate for the bottom of the doors and rear 1/4 panel to cover up the bad bits at the bottom of the doors.

So far cost wise

purchase cost £1900 (with 1year mot & tax)
wheels tyres £525 (fitted and balanced)
Underseal & Paint £50

Total cost £2475

Still to come

Looks good! A nice wheel/tyre combo does make a massive difference to the look. Who is your insurance with?

Lancaster they were the cheapest by miles.Bearing in mind all my ncb is on my other car.

Finished off the waxoyl tonight what a job!!, It needed it though.

Mud flaps getting put on tomorow probably be ripped off in a week tho!
