Not long fitted one of these to my sons freelander (first time) spent about 20 mins trying to fit the plastic ring round the piston to hold it all in place and was never happy with it, it would just not sit right . Tonight the bloody thing has come off the bracket ring and all , so two questions it looks as if the piston has come out so can it be pushed in again and do you have any tips on how to fit the dam thing right in the first place ? thanks

It is the 1.8 rob i think I may have found the prob the bottom lung of the metal bracket that holds the piston in place has broken off so when he came to change gear the piston was not held in to the bracket properly so some part the holds the piston in place had broken off .I have fitted a new bracket but I don't think there is enough left to hold it in place , tho it dose work

Same as mine, and I think I have excess slave cylinder movement too. difficult to get to the clutch release pivot arm to lubricate (harder than in the MGF!) will look into it again - and may also look to reinforce and strengthen the slave mounting bracket as I bet Rover made it out of 2mm pressed steel plate...!
