07 defender suspension lift.

Just looking for some info on a recent issue I had. HAs any one else lifted a new model defender?

I had my new Defender lifted 40mm's and heard a terrible noise coming from the gearbox-it grinded and whined. It was unable to be fixed with the lift in place. So it was dropped to 30 mm, 20mm and then standard and the noise would only go away once the standard springs were on it.

Has any one had any issues doing the same thing? prior to 2007 their was generally no issues with lifting a deefer up to 75mm or sometimes higher but this vehicle won't seem to accept a 20mm lift.

scorpion racing have done it . (august issue of lro )

i suspect you have either a t/box output bearing gubbed or a prop uj.

Thanks for your answers. I'll check LRO and look more in to the scorpion racing side of things. Even when it is raised less then 10mm the noise is still very evident. It has had a new transfer case, gearbox and rear diff replaced .

Sounds about right for the 07 defender, I dunno what LR have done to the defender but it's **** compared to all the earlier models.

Bin it and get a Td5
