My wagon stopped last week , the main dealer said that it was the fuel pump secondary fuel pump which could be fitted easly enough , However when i went to collect the wagon they then told me that it was the High pressure pump conected to the timing chain.
They then managed to get a replacment pump, however they told me that they can not fit the pump as they need a specialist tool which will have to come from germany.
I Dont know what to belive now , it sounds somewhat amaturist speak comming from a main dealer. If there is any body who can give me some info on this along with possible costings i would be extremily greatful.

Cheers.

The stealer didn't have the "special tool"?

Tell them to look in a haynes manual for a DIY tool, can probably be made from a 1/2inch drill bit and some matchsticks!

Sounds Bolox to me, I can't see them not having the tool to replace what is a fairly common failure part..This is a Landy main dealer?

Just realised my fookup in the above...we are talking about a Landrover dealership after all, anything's possible. Would have thought they'dve had th 'tool' in solihull tho.....:(

there havin a laff one thinks,

they should have the special tool to do this job (muppets) all specail tools are auto issued to dealers, idiots probably lost it or ruined it and they have ordered a new one,

mondo the high pressure pump is mechanical

Dead right LRG, but unless its a Beemer issue bit, can't see why Landy HQ Stores ain't got the tool, unless they all got left in Deutchland during Beemers tenure...could be worse I suppose, cud be in Septicland....
