Hi guys and girls, I have brake issues, had new discs and pads fitted 6 weeks ago, noticed two bands of rust on both sides identical patterns, they are three quarters of an inch two on each disc , these ar brand new and good make of parts, braking is it and miss, any ideas, thanks.

if the brake pedal travels it could be air in the system , also if they've allowed air to enter the abs section it then needs diagnostics for the abs bleed process
or possibly servo , but if it was fine before does sound like air
ref the rust , wonder if the pads aren’t touching ur disc evenly
personally as it’s ur brakes and you’ve just had them done I would take it back

does the pedal travel to the floor or a lot lower than before and does it brake as it should or worse than before the new discs and pads were fitted
what make if pads and discs were fitted plse
lastly , when u start the engine does the brake pedal sink
just trying to establish a few things if that’s ok

Hi Stuart, the pedal is it and miss sometimes most of the time its firm out the blue it travels, it's not getting hot, been back garage it's been on diagnosis coming back ok, was blead through diagnostic, all good, I'm not getting through that before this work was done everything was ok, needed new disc and pads for mot, now brakes are it and miss.

that's the problem I have been asked to pay for new pads and they will fit free of charge, both disc are showing same where pattern, so I don't know if it's disc or pads, do I demand full brake replacement?

wonder if they’ve disturbed the vacuum lines , have they checked vacuum pump is pulling a vacuum.
also every 6 x years the brake hoses should be replaced
know when I replaced my fluid it was a sod to get the air out
It might be best if there not prepared to fix it to take it to another garage and then give them the bill , seeing its ur brakes and of course have to be 100%

can sometimes take a little while if it’s a big picture
