Hi all, Thank you for accepting me,
As a new owner of a Land Rover, Range Rover HSE, i have a problem.
Bought the car only a month ago and after 16 days of usage the air height compressors stopped working, contacted the garage for early rejection but they refused this rejection. we were unable to drive it so they picked it up by recovery truck. The garage says that there are no faults detected but they have cleaned a height compression sensor and it is now ok . Would he have to dismantle this part as it is a closed unit !!!
Love the look of the HSE with 22inch alloys, but salesman now saying he will replace these with 19 inch factory alloys for increased performance. Not happy with this solution as this would change the look of the car completely ! would appreciate any advice or comments

My advise is 22” will spoil your vehicles performance and reliability. I would go with the 19’s

In general the bigger the rim the more you pay for a tire

Oversize means more wear to CV’s, shafts, clutches, gearbox, speedo will be wrong list is immense. 22” Rubber band tyres capable of holding a 3T vehicle 70mph in a bend are not cheap, comfortable or convenient. 20’s would be my limit for road wheels on your vehicle, coming from someone that has 32”tyres.

Ask the garage to give you the 19’s aswell. They need to sweeten the deal more than ‘downgrade’ you for free?

Not really possible to tell from the amount of evidence, but your dealer sounds like a shark. He takes your 22" and tyres, gives you some 19" he has tucked around the back, presumably with worn tyres, and then sells your 22" to some mug who gives him their 19" as part ex. Then he starts the process again.

If you are keeping the car, price up the cost of buying 19" wheels and suitable tyres and check out what your 22" and tyres are worth. If you are going to change, you should make the profit not your dealer.

We had no idear that this would be an issue when we bought it !! we were not informed that the 22 inch alloys may cause such issues, Your right they do look really good and thats what we were attracted to !! if we had been informed of this by the seller we would have avoided buying it ! But if the garage knew that selling it with 22 inch alloys would cause problems then why did they not inform us before we bought the vehicle. We paid a lot of money for this and it is down to the seller to ensure that the vehicle is fit for purchase.

Is common for people to fit 22” then get problems, then sell it on. That’s why there’s so many threads about it on here. If you can live with all the extra issues for looks then no worries but these vehicles are high maintenance - look what your L322 cost new!

It would be difficult to argue that 22" wheels are not fit for purpose. There are simply some downsides to running a RR on them. It also depends on what purpose you want the vehicle for. If you like the look of oversize wheels, only drive on the road and are not too worried about the ride quality, then 22" wheels will look good and make you proud. If you plan to ever go off road (or live in Edinburgh) then switch to the 19"s.

WE were sold the vehicle from a garage with the 22 inch alloys, at no point did they even suggest that this would be a problem !! Then after 16 days of driving it the suspension failed, they offered to change the alloys to 19 inch to increase performance. We bought the vehicle as we loved the way it looked, if they want to change the alloys then surely it is not as described !!
