How leaky can it get? Cheer me up - tell me your worst water ingress - make me feel better! Please!
And remedies... Or how to come to terms with it? Or how to pacify hubby who has had enough!!!

Mine runs in from the window hinge on the passenger side, the top of the capping on the drivers side and somewhere near the back door hinge.
It smells awful for days afterwards due to the damp carpets

Tratter water ingress solutions #58

I replaced the seals which fit on the inside face of the two ventilation flaps below the windscreen. Best taking the bonnet off to do this and whilst they come with a sticky surface - put them on with an impact adhesive - but fit them right first time! Doing this made a lot of difference to the amount of water that came in but you will never totally cure it.

They water test all tratters at the factory at the very end of production after the wheel/steering alignment has been done. Water jets sprays down and at angles to give it a good drenching all over. When it comes out they check for leaks. They also check inside the doors before they fit the door cards. Volume of water is considerable but they said they recycle the water when I asked. They tape the doors to stop them falling oft and remove the tape after drying oft with hair dryers. ;)

Yeah but they're only checking that the water drains out faster than it pours in.

Drowned drivers aren't good for the brand image :p

At the very very very end where they park them up before going on a brief road test they drive on a metal mesh plate as they come away water from the water/final door trim stage. There's a section that rises up, then flat, then down. Trying to remember the image of it. It's about 20 inches high and angles are 20 degrees. I did wonder if that was to tip any remaining water out.

Thanks you lot, I feel better all ready :D

Just about to put on my goloshers, rain hat, mac and goggles.

My landy wave might look a little different today, in my flippers. :p

Thanks Ian, this was done last week on one of them as it was perished. It didn't leak for a day! All the door seals were done last winter. Feels like it's collecting behind the bulkhead as well as trickling in to the driver's and passenger's footwells. Going around corners and braking produces a torrential down pour inside, top of the doorframe. Everything was fine in rainy September, all the leaky areas just seem to have conspired together to drench me all at the same time!

If they don't leak do the send them back to have some of the seals removed? you could keep terrapins in my foot wells when it rains.

Strangely they actually put more sealer in if there's leaks. They must wipe dry first I assume. Don't know if they go through again. I guess it's just a seal top up unless there's a big problem. They log all faults so this would be fed back and production activities changed to build betterer first time to save costs and improve quality.

Mine builds in the rain channel gutter under the windscreen, builds up and comes through both screen hinges. Cleaning the gutter and under the hinges stopped the drivers side but the passenger one comes through the bolt holes. I've got loads of silicone to fill that one with when it's dry. It runs along the bulkhead and comes out in the footwell and runs in a steady stream in heavy rain.

Think someone must be using invisible ink to write these logs up, how long have they had to get it right!

I found that mine drips water from the passenger side door along the stay which prevents the door opening too far, when I can I will change the hinges and door seal to see if that stops it.

That is exactly where mine drips from. But in a straight line down from the three bolts from the windscreen
