Poll time: Sell Spitfire for "as new" Lightweight?

Right, there is potentially an option for me to buy a Lightweight - still in the pallet it was shipped to the MOD in.

I think (mainly down to space) I would have to sell my Spitfire if i bought it.

I've had the Spitfire 2 years, I have rolled it, some how not killed myself, then spent more than I paid for it (which was a fair bit) re-building it. It was also used as our wedding car in the summer... so, a fair amount of nostalgia attached to it

Lightweight... will be getting more info in the near future, for now all i know is...

"Land Rover Lightweight LHD Diesel Ex Reserve Still in Pallet - Included in Sale"

This to me suggests it's never been used? Might be wrong i guess, but, we'll see soon.


SO Poll... is it worth selling the Spitfire and buying a light weight?

(FYI - currently have a 1964 Series and a 2008 D3 and the Spitfire, so, it would then mean i just have 3 Land Rover's)

I'd say keep the Spitfire .. In my limited experience, driving a Series is like driving a series .. doesn't matter if it's a lightweight or S2/S3 .. though S1's are 'special' ..

(My experience being owning an S3 just before the Disco for a couple of years, driving me mates S2 regularly for many years and driving a couple of lightweights a few times)

You already have a series so doing away with something that had real nostalgia only means a probable regret later .. though mostly I prefer to regret summat I've done ..
