Right,

4yrs no claims, me and Mrs on all policies no convications etc etc.

2001 Range Rover 4litre V8 - 10,000miles p.a cost £36.36 per month
2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.7V8 - 10,000miles p.a but on 3yrs nc £44.20 per month

Renewal price on Mondeo TDCI 130, 2002 4yrs nc cost £77.50 per month

How in gods name can the mondeo be the most expensive to insure???

I have done some other quotes on it and got it down a bit but its still the most expensive.

Tell me about it,

all 3 include legal assistance, breakdown and window cover, without the add ons just fullycomp insurance I have got the Mondeo down to £600 + a £140 deposit, so when I add the other bits its back up in the gods.

And I havent got the funds to pay it as a lump sum so get hit with interest as well, but always done it that way.

my mondeo tdci went up about 40 quid no matter where I went but the series went down by over a hundred quid !

I did the same search (but with my personal details) on compare the market.com:

Range Rover...................£712.12/year
Mondeo.........................£595.57/year

which is what I'd have expected.

I'd say you've made a slip-up somewhere in entering the details etc.???

Last Year the HiCap was £398, and the wifes Civic £580. Bought the 90 end of Oct and the last 3 payments an extra £20 (up to expiry)

Just got renewal for the 90 £1098!!!! from NFU Daylight robbery!!
Ended up doing a multicar policy with Admiral for Just over £1000 for both motors. Didn't even give them a chance to match it. NFU have always been the cheapest by far, but not this year.

Ditch the legal cover - it's a complete rip off and will, if you read the small print, only protect you in a non fault accident which if you were involved in a non fault acident you'll get free legal cover anyway.

It's one of them loophole things that really ****es me off.

If you hit a pedestrian in a mondeo the insurance pays out for long term injuries.
If you hit a pedestrian in a range rover the insurance pays out for funeral.
Just a thought

Sod that I pay £640 for anything up to 7.5 ton

1 lorry
2 land rovers
1 peugeot

plus anything else I wish apart from cosworths or kit cars

How long ago did you take out the Policies on the other cars?

Given we have had another winter of skill-less idiots shunting into each other, and any fixed object nearby, I expect we are all going to see insurance premiums rocket come renewal time.

MW

Rangie Policy was taken out in october
Jeep Policy in November

I can see your point, mondeo renewal is after a crap winter, I have checked and double checked all my info and it is correct. Halifax have however agreed to meet my best alternative quote .

But to top it off, someone ran into the back of it last night whilst the Mrs was driving home, on face value is looks ok. but on closer inspection the bumber is out of line and about 8mm forward, the boot shut lines were perfect they are now out and there is a knocking from underneath.

Its been collected next fri for assessment.

Bloody great.

Oh and FYI, If I cancel the legal cover you can guarantee I would need it for some reason. (thats what my luck is like).

Just a thought

I'm a london bus driver.
We go on loads of 'elf and satety courses, and we are always told it works out cheaper to kill someone than seriously injure someone:mad:

I know a fella who was out with his girlfriend when they had an accident. It was his fault so she claimed whiplash and claimed off his insurance against him...

they got married on the proceeds!:D

What are they chances of the mondeo been repaired??? Looked on net and its worth about 3k.

So new bumper supports/impact bars, new bumper, respray the bumper, re align the boot, also the mrs had her foot of the brakes when the woman drove into the back of her. I used the car today and under braking there is a wobble and a knocking noise over bumps.

Any thoughts?

Hopefully its repairable as today I did 240mile, sat at 85/90 and got 51mpg and totally comfy.

My beamer last june was £400 i cancelled it in october cos i took it off the road but decided to keep it and put it back on the road in december, called the same insurance company and they wanted just shy of £800 for the same policy.... bobbing rastards all i can say.

I tried to insure an astra this week. My no claims is used on my landy so... me and my wife to drive £795 third party £580 fully comp...

How is fully comp cheaper than third party?

Now that is backwards, more 3rd party than fully come.

Used mondeo again today and taken it off the road till its picked up on fri, wobble is worst a lot worst.

I'm not happy driving it let alone the mrs.
