Thanks much james....ive to tow it to the garage 2moro....its gonna be a big job i guess...n biggg money...the one n only landy mechanic here told he gonna check in n out ...but he mention most probably clucth A.....by the way the oil is brownish red...not blackish....tq

Thanks james for ur response....oil is ok..no burnt smell...colour a bit blackish but its normal not that bad....and when i put the lever into reverse....it engage sometimes n doesnt sometimes....;(

Thanks James and Biglad...ive check all seems fine...cable ok and the oil is good...but the problem still persists....another bad development is that i cant put her into reverse....sometimes it can ..sometimes it wont.....so now i lay her to rest....now im clueless again...and the worst...

HI guys!!..my 1996 disco 1 300tdi auto gearbox seems to slips and sometimes no drive...plus i cant put the gear on NEUTRAL!!!...can somebody care to explain what might be the problem???....im seriously in trouble now..pls help.tq:confused:

hi mates!..ive a kinda silly question but its very important. My disco making some noise when i turn the wheel especially to the right ..like takk!..takk!...only can hear the noise when turning slowly to the right ahead or reverse. While turning at faster speed, i can hear a grinding or humming...

Hi guys..Happy New Year!!...its been quite a while since i had problems with my landy till couple days ago...the steering starts to shakes violently from 70-90KmpH and then it stops when the rpm passes 100KmpH. Sometimes its shakes at 60KmpH as well but whenever it pass 100KmpH theres no more...

thanks all for the kind responses...i would prefer new box but its gonna be expensive..n heavy stuff plus shipping to my place in Asia..its gonna burn not my wallet but my bank acc as well...so maybe im gonna change the seal kit first..n c how long it stands ...thanks a lot mates..cheers :)

Thanks Dave..so looking at the pics..i reckon that the oil coming from output shaft(sector) rather than the input shaft rite?...correct me if im wrong...

thanks MR Dave..ok i will try to recheck again...but im not sure which is input shaft ..im gonna try 2 find a new seal for it on the net..but dunno whats the exact name and part num for it ?...

thanks James...the top seems dry but not sure though because there are some oil (looks like old and not so oily)..some pics of top as attached.:confused:
