Heater has a life of it's own

For a while when I turned on the demist button the wipers would stop if on and the alarm would sound. That happened for two years and was bearable, but suddenly it has sorted itself. In its place, the blowers now choose when they will or won't work. I'm nearly resigned to paying an auto...

automatic gearbox filter is there one.

Same here. Dropped the oil and changed it, with no success. Dropped the oil again and cleaned the filter, was better for a while. ripped the oil and put a new filter in. Took it for a good run then checked the level and had to put lads more in. Now perfect. Three lessons...filter is very...

    TD5 Auto Gear

Hi Dave Cheers, but I don't think it's any of those. What it's doing is not changing up as it normally would. Instead it's holding the gear until the point at which it would change up if I had used kick down - or kickdown in sport mode, even when not in sport mode, and with me giving it the...

    TD5 Auto Gear

Hi Can anyone pinpoint the issue with my TD5 auto. When pulling gently to build up speed, in some gears, on some occasions, the car doesn't change up as though it normally would progressively. Instead, it holds the gear as if you have used kickdown. Instead of changing at very roughly...

Having bled the brakes I managed to get brakes but they have never stayed. I then changed the master cylinder, but I now have cannot get nay brakes at all. When I release...

Discovery Td5 Back door jammed help please!!!

Fabulous information - just what I was looking for. I was all up for clambering into the back, unloading the boot through the car and removing the door card to hunt down the problem. Off came the badge, on went the WD40 and problem sorted!!!

    Nearside Air Suspension Dropped

Thanks chaps. It was the ride height sensor, which was still attached but had broken on the bottom mounting. It had then blown the compressor fuse! Marc

    Nearside Air Suspension Dropped

Henry I'll check the height sensor. It does nothing at all when starting - just sits down on that side at all times, running or off! Tried numerous times to let it rise with all doors shut. Offside stays up, Nearside stays down. Marc

    Nearside Air Suspension Dropped

Yes thanks. I've pressed the switch and got the single chime but nothing happens on the suspension.

    Nearside Air Suspension Dropped

Hi I knocked the suspension lift button on the dash yesterday and can't get it to reset. The nearside only has dropped right down on the rear and won't rise either on the switch, or automatically as I guess it should. The dash light comes on when I turn the ignition back on as if it knows it...

    No gears/drive

Cheers Aaron yes, it feels like it engages gear, and there's a light feel of contact through it, so I guess half shaft sounds right, with there being some contact between the two surfaces at the break. I'll check the hubs first. No cebtre seat so that'sll be an easy check! Thanks Marc

    No gears/drive

Hi Went to pull away in my Series 3, big clunck, and no drive in any gear. Didn't get anything in four wheel drive either. Transmission handbrake inoperative too. Gear stick goes in, but then nothing. Can anyone tell me where to look first. Cheers Marc
