Nearside Air Suspension Dropped

Hi
I knocked the suspension lift button on the dash yesterday and can't get it to reset. The nearside only has dropped right down on the rear and won't rise either on the switch, or automatically as I guess it should.
The dash light comes on when I turn the ignition back on as if it knows it needs to raise it but nothing happens.
The temperature has been below freezing throughout, and the car has been driven through slush and freezing puddles if that could have any effect.
Can anyone advise what to check in what order please.

I know this is stating the obvious . But when trying to raise it back up you are sitting in the car with all the doors shut , as it won't lift with any open .

Yes thanks. I've pressed the switch and got the single chime but nothing happens on the suspension.

right dont keep fafing with buttons , when you start the car does it rise as normal ?

have you given the car chance to rise ?

drop the drivers window stand outside and look for movement ( sounds silly i know ) if ALL doors are closed and you have no movement get some one to sit in the car , and get them to start it up while you "feel" the pump to see if it's running , to start with

While you are checking that the pump is working also check that the nearside height sensor is still attached at both ends

I'll check the height sensor. It does nothing at all when starting - just sits down on that side at all times, running or off! Tried numerous times to let it rise with all doors shut. Offside stays up, Nearside stays down.

Is the pump running?,if it is and the height sensor looks ok then susect a failed bag on nearside although it would probably be good to get the codes read just in case the height sensor is fubar.

It's possible the air filter for the pump (behind n/s rear light cluster) has filled with water then frozen. This stops the pump from getting any air so it won't raise the suspension. It happened to me.......

I had a similar issue a while back during a hard winter.

What had happened was that the ride height sensors were covered in ice so couldn't function properly. I also found that the 30?amp fuseable link had blown.

Once I had de-iced the sensors and replaced the link, all was good again.

Thanks chaps. It was the ride height sensor, which was still attached but had broken on the bottom mounting. It had then blown the compressor fuse!

They do that, and the fuses (fusible links) aren't cheap. I bought a complete fusebox from a breaker to get a set of fusible links and relays. Worth the £10 or so.
