Well it turns out that the actuator has a round opening on the top of the ram, in side that actuator is a plastic bushing where the rod attaches to pop the lock open. The plastic bushing has crumbled and the rod is loose. Tomorrow I’ll fab up a mod on that rod so I won’t need the bushing. I’ll...

Anyone have any tips or tricks for gettng a tale gate open? When I try to open it I hear an electric click but nothing else. Any ideas?

Curacao We have Napa and Donaldson, normaly they can cross ref any filter. Just nothing on euro motors here. No response from the Freelander section...

I am in a tough jamb, I need an oil filter for my wife’s 1.8 gas Freelander but no one here can cross reference the filter that is on there or the car! I show a Mico 0C237-1 but nothing at any shop here. So what filters will fit? Any Mfg will be helpful so I can cross reference. Thanks! Mac

OP here, FF just got this car back on the road again! Well done!

I wouldn't tweek the bracket. It is a goofy design and the metal is thin. Why not just shim between the ram and lever a hair? On seccond thought I woundn't do that either.

Belts AC & PS Tips and tricks to release Belt Tensioner Every car mfg has a tip or trick to release the tensioner before removing a belt. I.E. Chevy you insert a ¼” drive to the pulley and turn. Is there a good tip or trick to the 1.8 before I go jump in to this job? Thanks!

I am working through the same problem right now. Lever should move a bit (mine is about 10mm) by hand till you hit the clutch spring. Pull the bracket and inspect, mine was all cracked and bent. I couldn't get the new parts to align with the lever as they were no longer true and straight...
