I would like to post about my dealings with Famous Four over the last month. I have placed 2 orders with them all odd ball parts with half arse descriptions and no part numbers. Now keep in mind that I am half way around the world on a tiny island (Curacao) with no dealer support and no local parts availability. Shipping of even the smallest parts costs 50GBP and then I am taxed 40% on the parts AND shipping! So a wrong part costs me 75GBP right from the start! Basically the only option here is FedEx or you will never see your order. High stakes!

I am delighted to report that the team at Famous Four has been absolutely perfect in their parts, recommendations and customer service. Even on dealer only items they have gone out of their way to find the parts and ship them on down to me.

There are quite a few Land Rovers down here and I am 100% recommending them to anyone in the tropics that needs parts.

This might sound a bit cheesy but; living down here a good contact that is willing to go the extra mile is worth its weight in gold.

Thanks!

I would change your title from 'rant' - On reading this I first thought you were having a go!

Anyone else agree?

(BLAST! Just read the above... Should have guessed it was :5bspam:)

Good man, I'm just up the road from Famous Four, know them all well, they are an exellent team. Nothing is too much bother for them and they have an excellent sense of humour, and that's needed when I walk in through their door. :D:D

will say they are very helpfull and know thier stuff , but I use another unless in hurry as a lot of thier prices arn`t that competitive if you know what i mean (shame as they only 8 mile away)

Am hungry
Spam on toast anyone ?

I think that's a bit unfair in this case. It's not as if it's his first post and the rest seem genuine.
I think in this case we should accept that one Gaylander owner, in the middle of nowhere, has had some good service and wants to say so.

Mind you, I prefer Island 4x4 for my bits.
:behindsofa:

De palm in aruba have got a decent fleet if 110s and the way they drive em they must go through alot of parts

But will they ship to the OP?

Wow, :monitor_punch: Just trying to say thanks for the all the help to a stand up company. Yep the "Rant" part was a bit of trolling but it got your attention!

Yes it is a baby hippo in fact it is named Clarence. Gay enough for you? My wife loves the dam thing and drives it every day. I'd chop it up and buy a Toyota but it makes her smile. Plenty of Defenders down here and some cool rover trucks but they are just too dam big for the roads here.

I am a happy customer of a site sponsor. What is wrong with that? 1 Wrong part can cost me 100's of bucks in shipping and taxes, they have been 100% on the money.

Remain calm and carry on. F-it Freak out and fire wildly in the air!

True, but the dealer in Aruba can only get parts for US spec trucks. You can buy a 110 in the US. Mine is 1.8 gasser from Holland. They won't sell me parts! A-holes! Even when I give them the Rover part numbers they still say no returns, no guarantee. AND i still have to pay 40% tax!

Hey, who changed the title of the thread? I was going to change it after ruffled a few feathers. Oh well.
