I suspect I know the answer to this (you get what you pay for!) but has anyone tried the cheap wiper blades they are currently doing at Wilkinsons?

Are they likely to be the false economy I think they will be? Might be worth a punt to find out...

Cheers

gonna be pays your money takes ya choice!

genuine lot for £15 -> LANDROVER FREELANDER GENUINE WIPER BLADE SET FRONT+REAR - eBay, Land Rover, Car Parts, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 15-Oct-07 16:09:21 BST)

have been down this road a number of times with many vehicles. Invariably, the cheap ones always work a treat to start off with, usually generating a feeling of intense smugness as you drive down the road, happy in the knowledge you've saved a few quid.

The feeling lasts the same time as the blades (not long)

The price of the blades seems to relate to how long they work effectively for. Go for good quality every time. Bosch have never let me down, and I've alway been happy with the lifepspan, which seems to be comparable with main dealer.

Two months on, the weather's got much colder and wetter and the cheap wiper blades are still doing fine! At £2.49 for the pair that's not half bad.

Cheers

Freelander wipers are all a pain up the arse.Over the past year I have had about 4 different makes of wiper and even retro style ones and they are all rubbish. All excellent at first then they go noisy and smeary. I recently purchased a set of genuine Freelander all weather wipers from a dealer. These are basically normal wipers encased in a black condom so that no metal is visable. They are not bad and I can wait for snow to see how they fare because they are meant to reduce snow built up on blade.
Also recent price cuts are tasty making them like £16 a pair!Reccommend a pair!
