If you mean the heater pipe that bolts into the front of the manifold, there is an o ring that can fail

You can get plastic razor blades for removing old gaskets, sealer etc.

Yes. Wondering about the way it joins the casing. Could be yhe culprit. Wondering what I could do to seal the gap?

Difficult to be certain without pressurising the system & seeing where water escapes which is likely to prove difficult now it's in bits. That said I'd be more surprised if it isn't leaking between the hose & that part of the pipe that the hose fits over & I don't think the metal pipe is saveable.
It looks as though it pulls out & I suspect the 'o' rings - if any - would be where the rear is inside the hole in the inlet manifold.
(Possibly an interference fit but that could also be problematic as the difference in expansion rates when hot of the pipe & the ally might loosen it.)
I don't know if that's actually the case though & I'd wait until (hopefully) someone that's removed one comes along.
Worst case you could just heat it all up in the oven (wait until the wife's out!) & pull it to see what happens.
V8 inlet manifolds are plentiful & cheap. Several on ebay at the moment.

It does look dodgy. But I’m hoping it’s not it. We didn’t need to pressurise the system as water was coming down the back of the valley without it being under pressure. We just couldn’t see from where so we had to just take the manifold off. Which makes me think we would have seen it coming from that pipe as they are both very visible with the manifold still in place.
Think we just have to go for it, but I am a bit worried!

If it's pouring out as you fill it then it's very unlikely to be a head gasket or valley gasket, in my opinion

I agree. Just not sure what else it can be. Steady drip/pour as opposed to gushing but yes. Might buy a replacement manifold. Dont know whether to try it first. Such a bummer!
