What is this thing?

I have two of these in my 1999 disco 2. One is over my left shoulder while sitting in drivers seat, and the other is right side behind the second seat. What is their purpose? thanks

they are the sensors for the alarm int they?

volumetric sensors innit.

Thanks, one of mine was unhooked. I just removed the sunroofs to seal and i have the headliner at the upholsterers to get recovered. I didnt know what they were. Thanks again.

Hi Scott, re your lack of an Owners Manual, if you do a Google search you'll find an LR site which allows you, for free, to download all the different Owners manuals, in-car entertainment etc

You can unplug these and the alarm still functions.

I know this because we had a dodgy one in at work one time, and it was cheaper to unplug it than replace it, tee hee

Anyway point is, it may have been unplugged cos it was setting the alarm off all the time (like our car was)

If the Defender is "late", I would suggest a decent burial and then get a Disco once you're over the mourning period.
