Came to the disco with a high off side and an about right near side. Pressed the off road mode and rear end completely sunk. Pressed again and full rear height was reached. Used the lowering fob and got somewhere in the middle. Off road warning light remained on. Gave up for a while because the disco was not acting as expected. Next day flat battery (old battery) this was changed. Now the disco is always at full rear height. If I press the off road button there is nothing audible and if I release the button the dash light goes out, press button lights up (no chime) release button light goes out still no chime and no movement in the suspension. Fob has no effect either. All doors properly shut when testing.

Has anyone come across this before? What can I text for?

I should also let you know that although she is at full height off-road there are no warning lights/chimes etc and when I start the engine the three healthy chimes ring out.

Regards
Matt

Hi Matt, It sounds like it needs re-calibrating. Have you done any work on the suspension like changing a ride height sensor without disconnecting the battery? This will cause calibration problems. Also check the the RHS are ok and a linkage hasn't come off. If you put your location in your profile there may be someone near you with Evo or Hawkeye that can help.

Hi Griff

Unfortunately no, there hasn't been any work carried out on her.

I will add my location to profile as I am completely stuck, even where to start.

The linkages are sound (as much as I can tell) they are bolted and held on the body/suspension.

I am in Crowborough - East Sussex and will change my profile.

Thank you

You can try to swap the sensors between them cos then they'll both work on the unused side of them if you see what i mean... there are cases when this trick helped, (if you go for it dont forget to disconnect battery first)... if the trick doesnt help at least you'll calibrate the sensors on theyr's unworn sides... this way at least you'll see how the contacts in the plugs are cos those are common to fail

Thank you sierrafery

I will give that a go in the morning and update my post.

I have just had a look at the disco before locking up and the suspension has dropped a little. It seems to have dropped more on the near side. I didn't start her up or put the key in. Just made a mental note that she has dropped a bit but a little wonky.

The guy at the garage that I ended up taking her too did not have his Landrover Mech in. He lent me his Solus ECU reader and said that if I get stuck use it. I had to use it a couple of times to manually raise the suspension as the dash controls became inoperative. I have taken the Disco and Solus ECU reader back and left it with them. His Landrover Mechanic is back and believes that the off side ride height sensor is faulty and giving a healthy signal when clearly it's not right. So hopefully an easy fix and grateful for the loan of the ECU reader to help me out while I wait for the right mechanic.

2 New ride height sensors and a recalibration later and she was back on the road level and adjusting correctly. 3 days in and she was as high as she could go near side and normal as she could be off side. Back to square 1.

With her being so high I wiggled the connecting plug to the ride height sensor on the near side. As soon as I did that she let out a little whips and down she came about 10mm.

With overalls on this time I removed the plug and put it back in. Both sides dropped to the bump stops.

Just being able to squeeze under I removed the plug, cleaned in (near side) squirted it with WD40 replaced the plug and started her up.

Ride height perfect. It appears that the issue was, if not only the plug/connection to the near side ride height sensor.
