Well done on fixing this. The R5 stat mod is in my opinion a great solution to a common problem. I too have the auto and lost a chunk of skin getting the stat in the hose a few years ago, but it's performed really well since. I probably ran the car for a couple of years or so at the 1/4 temp level but was delighted with the results when I put the R5 stat in.
