Rpm

I just noticed that when i took my auto diesel P38 onto the motorway my rpm was higher than normal. I was travelling at about 70mph and they were at 3000+. Pulled in and moved it up and down the box once while stationary and pulled back off. They then dropped to their normal level of about 2500rpm at 70mph. Since completed a 300 mile round trip without a blink, any ideas what that could be? I did a filter and dextron 3 oil change a few weeks ago.

Torque converter not locking up?

What does that mean? Is it serviceable or does it need replacing. Can i let it develop or is it dangerous?

Probably didn't put enough fluid in. Check level with engine running after selecting all gears.

With engine and box cold.
