Iam sure I have a leak in rear passenger side air bag due to it dropping when I leave it overnight. 1. How do I check for a leak. 2. How long for a trained mechanic to replace the rear pair.Ive read if your doing 1 then do the pair.I watched a video on youtube on how to check the valve joints ( spry soapy water on them) that go ito the EAS box under the bonnet and they seemed ok.But not seen anything on how to check the bags .A step by step would be good if anyone can help. Thanks in advance :)

gaz its a DIY job I did mine a few weeks back all 4 of them, someone may come along and give you the details of how its done, its about 2 hours for the back... less but you have to have a beer break!!

Not long at all couple hours....hardest part is if they are the aluminium caps, they tend to attach themselves quite strongly to the mounting points and to get the pin out is a bit of a struggle, if they are the plastic caps, they should be fine....

As for testing them, raise the vehicle to Highest Setting and spray with soapy water any splits will be evident....

Ensure you get new pins when you do the job....I attach the RAVE Manual pages for the Bladder replacement.....hope it helps.

To identify which air spring is leaking, park vehicle and if in a garage leave a door or tailgate open. This will prevent the self levelling from operating and dropping the vehicle onto the bump stops. Whichever corner is down the next morning will have the leaking Air spring. If the vehicle is parked up outside leaving the doors open is a risky option so, remove the timer relay from under the front passenger seat which will have the same effect. As Dopey says, replacing the Air springs is a DIY job and about 2 hours (including beer break). :5bcheers2:

Cheers Dopey and Saint. Guy I know is a trained mechanic (a workshop manager with volvo) did alot of work on aan S60R I had and is very reasonable. I will get him to do it but give him a hand so I can see hows its done.I always envisage myself getting halfway through it then getting stuck with what to do.If I see something done Im confident I can do it the next time. As you will see Dopey iam giving my headlining and trim a DIY job but then if I get stuck with that the car still goes eh lolol and yeah defo gotta have a beer break

Cheers for the help Tony I have just bought one of these EA things of Ebay went for the cheaper laptop one. Seem to get a good review and seems you cant be without one for setting and re setting your air suspension.

A bit late now but if you'd bought your EAS lead from Datatek on here you would have got it for half the ebay price, got a cd with instructions on it on how to set up your suspension AND on the cd you would have got the complete RAVE workshop manual AND instructions on how to change the airbags!!!!!!
