Hi all
I wonder if there are any people on the forum who are knowledgable about how i can re import my disco from norway, Vehicle was exported to guernsey about 4 years ago, and after a year, it was taken to norway, number plates have been sent back to guernsey and i have received my permanent export cert from the islands government. vehicle has been unregistered in norway.. so i want to bring it back to the uk when i move back there early next year, how can i do this legally.

thank you for your help.

Go on DVLA website and request the used vehicle import pack. You will also need to let HMRC know that you have imported a vehicle (DVLA pack has all the info in it)
It should be easy but true to form for DVLA my disco is still not registered in the uk after 4 months.

Norway is not in the EU but is in the EEA. If it wre in the EU you would have automatic import rights.
Still should be easy though as it was originally registered in a part of the UK.
Slow, and I believe expensive these days.

Should not be too much of a problem , as you are reimporting , not importing , do you know the old reg number , did you tell them you were exporting , do you have the old V5 ? Mind you things change all the time , and any Gov dept are pretty slow due workload !

thanks for the comments, land was registered in uk from new, it went for permanent export to guernsey, i do not have the original v5, because it went to the registration office in guernsey at the time of registering, i can't really recall the number of the truck, its been a while since it was exported

:hysterically_laughiSlow due to crap systems and the snails pace at which they work in my experience:mad2:
OP, always a good idea to keep a copy of old docs for the car, look in the owners handbook, the original reg may be recorded in there.

Shame you can't remember the reg, could always chance your arm at just applying for a repalcement v5 with the vin and reg, never know it might just pop out of the dvla computer system :)

thanks guys, Rattlegun, i am going to try to do that, just trying to find the number, i hope i have it back in uk, hopefully on export cert from original v5
