Jate rings fixed to chassis, steering guard with built in recovery points or HD front bumper with recovery points are your options.

Jate rings easiest and cheapest but bot much fun attaching shackles when stuck 2' in mud !

Thanks mate

I only made the mistake of not having a tow rope attached once, I was laid on my bonnet had my arm in thick smelly bog over my elbow. U will only do it once finding the tie point n fasening a shackle in a bog is hard and tricky

2nd that got a pin type one it's a bloody god send
I bought a brand new D44 anchor type off of Fleabay, bargain @ £90 it's huge, super tough and very effective, if a bit heavy.
Pulled tree roots out of Jai Landrover's front garden with it, till I found a nice yellow gas pipe.

This is a VERY newbie question, but if I were to turn up at somewhere like silverdale, for begginners like me, who have little practical offroad experience, how does it work? are there different routes etc depending on experience? it seem quite daunting.

Best thing is go with someone who's been before! Some places have marked routes some leave it to common sense, you need to watch similar vehicles and take it steady at first while you build a little confidence, most people are helpful and friendly, so chat to them
