need to fit 12s towing charge socket

well can i just fit a universal charge socket and wire it in or does it have to be a landrover specific kit?
has anyone fitted either and have idea of costs? as iam sure even with trade at my local dealer the landy part will still be stupidly expensive!!!

The loom for 12S is behind the left hand side panel in the boot, a piece of **** to connect up your own cable down to the socket. The wiring colours have been published on her by, I think, Irishrover. Try a search.

i just went on island 4x4 who have the specific socket and link cable but at nearly £60 plus vat for both just reckon i should buy a pre wired socket for all of £7 and cut the plug of and solder together! just wanted to make sure there were not any extra relays that needed to be added anywhere!

Only if you want to run a fridge off the 12 volt car supply. The P38 12S wiring will not cope with that

No. I ran a separate 4mm fused supply direct from the battery and used the standard switched 12volts to drive a relay so power was cut with the engine off. P38's don't like low battery volts
