I bought a disco 1 td5 off road ready a couple of nights ago, most of the electrics have been bypassed including the ignition as you have to push a button to start it. It conked out after driving for about 20 mins, started off a jump fine and that died again about 20 min later and will not start at all even with a jump. Can anyway help point me towards the right direction as I don’t have a clue where to start

I think the "Off-Road-Ready" claim meant it cannot be driven on a road.

If the previous owner has converted it to push button start, it would be worth getting back in contact to see if they had the same issue and how they’ve converted it. When you say off-road ready, is it a modified road legal vehicle with the usual disco mods like suspension lift, HD bumpers, knobbly tyres etc or is is literally an off-road non legal vehicle that’s been driven with little regard for it?
