I bought a disco 2 td5 a couple of nights ago, it’s been made off road ready with 285s and a 4 inch lift. Most of the electrics have been bypassed including the immobiliser as you have to push a button to start it. After about 30 mins of driving I parked up and it wouldn’t start again. It started off a jump but then cut out after about 20 mins of it running, wont start off a jump nothing. Could anyone point me in the right direction of what the problem could be??

Could be a disco 2 then pal I don’t have a clue I just don’t know where to start
If it has a Td5, it is highly likely that it is a Disco 2. Disco 1s have Tdi diesels or V8 petrols as standard.
Buying anything that has been mauled by the Orf Road brigade is always a bad move, you want clean, well looked after, and near standard for the best value.
Post some pics of the vehicle, including underbonnet and underneath, if you want meaningful suggestions.

The electrics don't sound great, to be honest. Td5s are dependent on electronics to run right. The starter issue may not be a major problem, as that is just electrical.
Have you checked carefully that the vehicle is not nicked? Vehicle theft is a problem in your area.

It is probably a good thing that it doesn't start. A 4 inch lift is highly likely to knacker the propshafts, unless they have also been modified to cope with the lift. It sounds like you will need to go right through that and sort it out, but post the pics first, and we will tell you.

Disco 1, doorhandles as in Morris Marina,
Disco 2, door handles black wot you pull to open.
Disco 1, feck all engine electronix unless you have auto with EDC
Disco 2, lots of electronix

all good fun, eh?
Best of luck with it.:):):)

You should know at least what kind of vehicle you have other than that it's a kind of monster truck... what year it is? cos you said

and if that was made to a D2 then any electrical fault should be fixed by those who bodged it that way... can you hear the pump running with ignition on 2?
