keycode lockout problem

Good point, I hadn't had a flat battery at the time - it does sound like diagnostics are his only real way forward at this point as something isn't working properly.

I had the same kind of issue when I first bought mine with the RF keeping BECM awake and all that - However when I entered my EKA, all the locks popped up and it let me resync the key and start the vehicle. I wonder if his BECM as gone into lockout which is preventing him from getting it going...

I can't see his location on his profile anywhere, but if he's local to me I'm happy to go have a look with the Nanocom and/or BECM programming gear...

Problem with flat battery after locking with Fob, is that with a flat battery when you unlock with key BECM doesn't know about it. No power. So when you reconnect battery all it knows is car is unlocked and shouldn't be. Hence alarm.

That rings a bell from when I had the issue with mine (over 3 years ago now though!) - the RF kept BECM awake, flattened battery. New Battery, and upgraded RF receiver. I seem to remember the alarm going off (which ties in with what you mention) and I got KEYCODE LOCKOUT on the dash when I put the new battery on.

Waited the obligatory 30 mins for it to go away, entered EKA and away it went - so something must be amiss in the OP's vehicle if he thinks the EKA is being entered fine but it still won't let him sync and/or start the vehicle. Break out the diagnostic I say...

Think i have mentioned diag a few times but it seems to fall on deaf ears. Or maybe the lad is out in the sticks and no one around to help him.

Too right that you have... a location in his profile would make it a bit easier aswell as it would give us a clue as to whether there is anyone near him...

Hi lads

im still havent got range rover going. However ive had a range rover mechanic out and hes full booked and believes i need a new becm. Ive taken out the door latch and take it apart to look at micro switch all working fine. While i was stripping it apary i notice i caught a wire that leads to the door switch when i caught it the display on dash came up with the mileage and said that rhf door is open that didnt happen before when i used to open the door.
So i was wondering what happens when u unlock ur door and get in before placing key in the ignition kinds regards owen

Think I would be checking the wiring between the door and the A post for breaks, have a look at the white connectors behind the A post kick panel as well

Hi alan

Ive check the wire that cable when i move it made a noiae and dashboard display came up with mileage and rhf door open. When u open ur range rover driver door does the display come up with milage and door open before putting key in ignition??

Thanku Alan i have stripped the door latch mechanism and cleaned inside and made sure everything working and all micro switches working etc so tomorrow to refit it in hope eka code will work.

Step 1. see post#50, Step 2. Is the side light warning light on the dash flashing each time you turn the key whilst entering the eka code. If it is then the becm is getting sent current but is it receiving it? Step 3. Have you pm'ed Mozz yet? Step 4.You may well have a becm problem so contact Rick the pick. :)

Hi lads
ive spoken to mozz hes been a great help and have learnt alot from him. Unfortunately still have the problem. Ive had a land rover dealer out and hes said new becm which is last resort and i don't believe its that and its something else .
This morning ive taken drivers seat out and checked around becm unit to make sure no water underneath to elimate this which is dry. However ive started taking the the plastic trim around the bonnet latch and fiddling around found a 12 pin plug which i believe is part of the immobiliser and is corroded so im going to clean this later. My believe is maybe the pollen filter need silicone as i believe water is getting in through this. Will upload this photo of plug

This is the plug ive found corroded
