Hi all and possible bit of help!!

Hi all, i have been using the forum for a while now as i also own a P38 Range Rover, so yes as expected on here a lot!! I have just picked up a Freelander 1. 1.8, 1998 on an S plate. It's been well looked after and maintained well, however there are a few things i would like to sort...........any help/ pointers would be much appreciated.

1. Both offside doors do not unlock using central locking remote, but they both lock using remote??

2. Sunroof does not open either, when the button and you can hear it try, i have removed the inside light unit and you can see the motor turn perhaps a 1/4 turn but nothing more??

3. HDC switch wires look to have been cut/snapped, there is about an inch of wire coming from white connector, nothing connected to black plug/ connector on gear lever??

Thanks for any help regarding these, i hope to repay with help/advice in future............ that's if i get enough time between maintaining The Beast and now Baby Beast!!

Why? dont you read anything on here?

HDC wires cut usually means yu have the 3 amigos and someone has cut the wires rather than fix it, coz its too expensive. re connect the wires and see what happens .

Burn it and get yer knockers out.

I aint gettin my knockers out for you - or anyone else on here - perv!

Hi liza,

One press of the remote should only unlock the driver's door.

A 2nd press is needed to unlock the others.

Both left hand doors on mine don't work either, it's the solenoids that have gone apparently. hope this helps

Thanks for some of your replies!! I would get my knockers out if i was a bird, however as i am not.........Unlucky!!!!

Sorted the HDC, resoldered wires on to switch and it works, i presume it works by holding on brakes via abs? not got a handbook for it yet so trying to glean some knowledge off here regarding the car.

i understand that 1 press does drivers, second press does rest of doors however neither the drivers or rear offside open, need to use key on drivers, will have a look at the solenoids.

I do try to ignore some comments, it's all part of the forum though i think. I was always told there is no such thing as a daft question.................

the roof does seem to be stuck, best way to try and free it.............?
