I think I need to replace the headlamp leveling switch on a 52 plate TD4 as it recently seems to have a mind of its own and attempts to level headlamps whilst you are driving along. I have friction-ed the switch with the lights off which gives a temporary cure but it keeps coming back, occurring more frequently. I have read that when this problem occurs, it could cause a MOT failure as the adjusters appear to be working independently of each other - the sign of dirty contacts! The question I have is how do you get the switch out of its location as it appears to be recessed into the instrument binnacle and I don't want to do more damage to the plastic than is necessary?
Thanks.

Simple fix. Mine did this.
Simply pull out of slot.
Switch can be taken apart and copper tracks cleaned and reassembled.
If you get stuck I have some spare ones.
