Freelander 2 (LR2) Freelander 2 hse high miles

Hi to all in the forum

I've been offered a 2008 plate td4 auto for £4350.00 a good price but it has 184k miles on the clock.

It's in good condition with service history, the cambelt wad done on its last service.

At that mileage am I looking at trouble or will these run well beyond those miles.

Wouldn't bother me in the slightest, just do the normal car checks. There should be some paperwork for the Haldex unit, check that, it was an issue on some FL2.
Other than that, go for it, the engines good for at least another hundred thousand more miles and more.

I would pay slightly more and get one with a lot less miles. The FL2 has lots of problems with steering racks, clutches, auto boxes, fuel gauge sticking, HVAC system faults, and dash LCDs, not to mention the almost epidemic rear diff failure.
Definitely worth looking for a lower miles FL2.

But usually when they have got to that mileage, it's because they have been so reliable!!

Cheers all, appreciate the feedback and all view points/potential warnings. What do we think of the price ? is that a fair price at that mileage for a one owner full history HSE or should I throw a bit more at it and bide my time for the right one to come along.
