Hi all, I bought a disco 2 td5 last weekend and it has a few issues. One of the issues I’m tackling this weekend is the central locking. I can unlock and lock the car with the actual key itself but the fob does not seem to unlock or lock the car when clicking the button. Can anyone advise on what might be causing this issue???

Could be an iffy fob battery,
Eight times out ten there’s an issue with the receiver buried above the head lining over the rear seats.
It appears to be a common issue so theres already, lots of info already on the subject on what to do In the forums.

New Receivers are available from Land Rover parts. I had to replace mine last summer for just this reason.

Hi, some questions, please answer completely to each if you want proper help:
1. is the red LED on the fob reacting to your commands? if yes what about the red LED on the dash?
2. do you have only one fob or it does the same with the second one too?
3. can you start the engine after you unlock with the key without trying to unlock with the fob first?
4. did this issue start at the same time with your indicator issues?

Hi, thanks for your response
1. Yes the key has a red light which responds to my inputs.
2. I only have one fob
3. Yes I can, the immobiliser isn’t stopping the car from starting even when only opening with key
4. No this issue was there before, indicator issue is fresh problem

In this case if the alarm disarm is set to "always disarm with key" and the immobiliser disabled the RF receiver is the first suspect unless there was a problem with the BCU which got worst as to affect the indicators too...you should replace the receiver cos it's plug and play to rule it out.
Okay, that will be first port of call. Need to pull headliner out anyway as it’s sagging
