This is my first post here and thank you for all the great info that everybody shares here.

I drive a 2001 D2 TD5 GS.

My issue is that when I lock my car with FOB all locks fine, but when I unlock the alarm goes off until I press the unlock button again to unlock all doors then the alarm stops.
If i lock the vehicle and unlock again within a short space of time, then all is well. If I stop for say 10 mins or more then when pressing the FOB unlock button once to only unlock the driver's door then the alarm sounds and then upon pressing it a second time it stops.

Any idea where to look for the issue.

Ok, your issue is very strange, it's the first time i see such thing but knowing how the system works we might figure it out, some things must be clear:
1. if you leave any door open EXCEPT the driver's and lock with the fob do you hear the misslock warning(short horn sound)?
2. do you have a nanocom or similar?

So Ive done the test. All doors give me the miss lock warning including the drivers door. I don’t own a Nanocom or have direct access to one unless I take it into a repair shop.

Can I just ask a couple of things?
What happens when you press the unlock button twice before opening the door?
What happens if you lock the door with the key then unlock it with the fob by pressing it once, tehn opening the door,
What happens when you do the same thing again but this time pressing the unlock fob button twice?

Hi did you ever get to the bottom of this? as I now have the same problem.

Hi SullyUK,

Nope wasn’t able to solve it. Still having the same issue. If you maybe come up with a solution please let me know.

I tried the pressing twice prior to opening as suggested earlier up your post but that didn't make a difference as still sounds on initial pressing. Thankfully it turns off when I press it again and all is ok from then on so like you, I'm looking at where to start.

Will try the double press to lock tomorrow and get back to you. I bit the bullet and bought a NanoCom Evo today.
That was a good investment, once you plug it in go into BCU - settings - transm/lock/warn and set the superlock to disabled, save this setting then see if it works well or not... if no joy i'll tell you more

I tried the double lock pressing and the alarm still sounds when I press to unlock. If I use the Nanocom in the BCU as instructed above what functionality do I lose? Is it just the superlocking?

Yes, these settings are all reversible so if one doesnt help or you don't like it you can go back to the previous ... see the "single point entry" to be on "spe" as well and better read the guides which you can download here https://www.nanocom-diagnostics.com/downloads and there is a forum for specific nanocom questions there too
