Disco door lock

Due to the sad death of my beloved defender due to a catastrophic engine fire i have found myself the proud owner of a late 1998 disco GS 300 tdi.One slight problem i have found is on the passenger door lock.What you have to do is pull the lock button up a bit more to open the door,the disco has central locking has anybody had this same problem and is it easy to fix other than that i am quite impressed with the disco you never know i might not want to go backto a defender .

theres a small spring in the lock that needs replaceing you can find them on ebay just hope you got small hands there very fiddley to do

I would buy a full set if I were you as the other doors won't be long before they need doing.

to do them all you need 8 springs
the 5 door ones do the door locks, but kiddie locks also use these springs, and its easy enough to do both while you have the locks out.

eBay bloke also provides the instructions and the springs are 'handed' so he provides them in sets for which side

I have a slightly different problem, on my 97 300 tdi the drivers door needs to be jiggled several times before it opens any ideas ? by jiggling i mean you have to try and open the door 5-6 time before the handle works it is odd. it works fine from inside though
