my discovery 200tdi starts to dance at 55/60mph..

now so far to correct this problem which only happend the day after the panhard bushs were changed..

i have checked all the new parts to the best of my knowlage and non seem to show any sign of failure...but then again it only happens at speed?

so far the car has had new pro comp damper's all round, a new boge steering damper and new bushs(complete) as well as the panhard having its bushs replaced again the day after by a lr specilist...

there is no excessive play in the steering(no more than before at least)

and no signs of any broken parts on the steering or suspension..

so basicly at a loss as where to look next:confused: cheers

Did you pump the steering damper a couple of times before fitting it?
Sometimes they need this to get em working right.

How's your drop arm ball joint looking? also a common thing for lazy sods to do is to pull the ball joints into the steering bars/rods (so the ball joints are off centre) and then tighten em up to prevent wandering steering. If you have just changed your set up YOU may have alligned them all correctly meaning you now have to find what they couldn't. It could be this has been covering up worn swivels. (the usual culprit).
 
update..

took her for the pre mot this afternoon and .....the play is in the upper uj of the steering link(between the main colum and the steering box)...

the other fail points found was, nsf side light, nsf main beam, osr break light and last but not least the osr reflecter :D

he also complemented me for the condition of the car as a whole saying its one of the best he as seen in a long long time..not bad to say its a 1990 :D

Sounds like it'll be cheap to get sorted then.:)
 
Even if the U/J is worn on the steering link this should not cause the car to wobble.

If you replace the link you will probably feel the wobble through the steering more, I do not want to rain on your parade but the wobble does not come from a steering U/J.

The U/J would not 'know' you were doing 55/60 MPH so I would go for the usual balancing/swivel preload (difficult to test at MOT), wheel bearing slack but testable, fault in tyre carcass not always possible to spot.

Incidently, if you go off road and get mud stuck on the inside of the wheel rims that can really upset your ride home as it throws the wheel balance way off.
