I've only ever seen the v6 snorkle as said above. Not seen anything for the diesel apart from somethig I remember from spain years ago. LR only ever offered a v6 snorkle for the G4 challenge Freelander 1. I don't have a snorkle on my v6 due to cost, it would look silly and I don't want to go through deep water.

edit: and no it's not coz the doors will felled oft.

Int v6 and td4 the same pick up? I'm not sure! Roca Silva are the Spanish one, dammed expensive, only on v6 side but look the part. I don't particularly like the Mantec one!

Bloody hell €785 for a painted freebie snorkel, €675 without paint?!?

They look pretty, not especially the 1 for a freelander as the Hilux looks damn good but I could never justify spending that kind of cash on a bloody snorkel

I could probably make 1 out of aluminium but I wouldnt know where to start out of glass fibre etc.

Going to stick with the original plan of having a good look at a disco version to get an idea of what they look like in the flesh & see where I go from there.

A lot of the snorkels I've seen, including the Roca one has a rear facing entrance, wouldnt that create a venturi effect & cause a vacuum in the actual snorkel giving poor air flow at motorway speeds?

Dunno! I don't think it matters too much. The engine draws it in with one hell of a force!

Except that one of the Rocas USP's is that it has a downeard facing inlet so that it gets a ram effect from the airflow up the windscreen.

In the back of the Haynes book on Freelandies, there's a pic of a yellow L series 3 door with a snorkel that is obviously home made/converted and it's not too bad I reckon.

Not sure about Td4. Ere's my v6. Air intake on the left behind the headlight, as you look at the pic
