Looks pretty!

If there are any stands selling the disco / defender snorkel at Peterborough I'm going to have a look at what would be involved to convert 1 to fit a freebie, just concerned that the angle to run up the A post would be totally different & end up looking a mess.

That's my concern!

I lookwd in to the snorkel for the freelander a few weeks ago, the general opinion is that is a waste of time.

The maximum wading depth for freelander / freelander 2 / evoque is 500mm. Thats because the vehicle will start wanting to float in water deeper than that, hence snorkel / no snorkle will make no difference.

Personally, I can't see a freebie floating. Just passing on the official line....

Freelander 1 is only 400! I know that line, but I want one so why do what everyone else thinks is right? Mines built as an offroader so there's a greater risk. What happens to a floating car with no traction? It stops then sinks! That could be the end of it. I know you shouldn't be in that situation but it's all too easy to cock up, wet carpet I can live with. Blown engine not so much

You actually tried getting one? V6 is the wrong side? Mantec have stopped making them! Roca silva one again wrong side and dammed expensive! Any other suggestions welcome:D

But I have just got me self a 150amp alloy welding setup gas and all included £75:) must be £60 worth of gas! Plus some bits of alloy. If it all works on my welder there could be a nice little welder for sale!:)

If there is a TD4 snorkel available could somebody point me in the right direction? I just keep on coming up blank with my searches.

I've heard freebies float, I felt it starting to get light on Saturday but I also think I'd have waded past the top of my arches (& pulled water into the engine) before it floated.

I've only ever seen the v6 snorkle as said above. Not seen anything for the diesel apart from somethig I remember from spain years ago. LR only ever offered a v6 snorkle for the G4 challenge Freelander 1. I don't have a snorkle on my v6 due to cost, it would look silly and I don't want to go through deep water.

edit: and no it's not coz the doors will felled oft.
