Advice please.

1997 DSE Located at Mow Cop.

Purchased Dec 2010. 79K miles.
Very please with it but it does have it's faults.

I know the blend motors need fixing , it is stuck on blowing to the screen.(At least I assume it is the blend motors! the cheque book sign is showing), just gathering up the courage to tackle the things.

The aircon was not working and with the great weather I decided to have the aircon recharged. Leak test carried out, all was fine so recharged by the local ATS centre.

However, the aircon will still not blow cold. (As an aside, because the aircon would not blow cold after ATS recharged it they said I would not have to pay for the work they did. I thought this was a good gesture on their part as I had asked them to carry out the work, I finished up paying a reduced amount despite their offer of a freebie).

My question is: Because it is stuck on blowing to the screen does the aircon not work by intentional default or is there some other fault.

Regards

The distribution blend motor being stuck will not affect the aircon, however if the temperature blend motors are stuck you will not get cold air. You really need to get it plugged in and the fault codes read. I suppose the aircon is switched on? It's on when the light above the switch is off.
Check the cabin temperature sensor is not blocked, it has a little fan that draws air across the sensor.
