With the various clean air zones coming in soon I’ve done some checks to see if I’m going to get charged and finding it vary confusing.
In Manchester cars are exempt for who knows how long
Vans won’t be
There is a government web page vehicle checker for clean air zones now to find out if charges apply
As far as I can see, any defenders pre-2000 are coming up as cars and exempt, regardless of engines, size, or anything, even big utility high capacities.
Younger than 2000 anything other than counties are comping up as vans and due to be charged.
Don’t know if this is set in stone for the charging system now and all older defenders will be ok, or just a glitch and all vans/pickups will actually cop for the charge?
My main motors pre-2000 but down as a van on the logbook so I’m hoping it’s the former.
