    Picture of my new 110

Yeah it does look a little battered. As a whole though it's in pretty good condition. The front end is a bit of a let down for the whole truck. It was well loved until the farmer backed a trailer into it the week before I bought it! I don't mind the dents, but the wing on the drivers side has...

    Picture of my new 110

Hey guys. I've finally got around to taking a photo of my new landy for you. Nothing special as yet, but as I add things I'll add more pictures so eventually we should have a good "as work is done" record of progress. Here it is before any serious work has started

    Defender or Discovery??? Vote Now!!

Get a Defender. A Discovery is ok for the school run, but in truth it's just another plastic landy. Defenders are great if you can cope with the noise and limited comfort. If you play with them a bit they can be improved a lot.

    Another tools thread, Compressors!

I worked for an old engineer chap a few years ago, he had a cool garage setup. He had a four post lift in there, but the workshop wasn't that high. Turns out the roof was attatched to it so when he raised the lift the roof was raised at the same time! Bloody clever I thought, he even had wooden...

    Truck cab rear window rattling!

No idea how that's going to help, but that thing looks really cool! I want one. The ultimate wasp nest killer! I'll try the pond liner trick. I'm a landscaper so I'm sure I've got some hanging around somewhere. I tried to use capilary matting on the last one but I couldn't get it in (too big...

    Truck cab rear window rattling!

No way! That's one of the few comfort features it has. In the summer you can't beat opening up the front vents and back windows. They have to function!

    Truck cab rear window rattling!

Are the rails an easy part to find? I've got to do it, it's really bugging me and I'm running out of paper to ram in there!

    Truck cab rear window rattling!

Hey guys. My back window is rattling like crazy, the felt has rotted out. Is there any way of re-lining the runners so they are quiet again? They're driving me crazy:lalala:

    It's squeeking! Help!

The drivers side swivel housing was empty. What a simple fix that appears to be! I took it out for a short drive after I'd squeezed half a bottle of oil into it and it was fine, no noise at all. I just hope it hasn't been like it for too long and caused damage. Looking at it the oil seal is on...

defender door cards on 90 doors possible?

Where are you? If you're anywhere local to Gloucester I'm after some older type doors. I'll swap you if you're interested?

Vivnap, WTF are you building to need planning? If you don't go over 2.5m high you can have a vast space these days, the planning rules have changed recently. When I phoned the council for advice on my workshop I nearly fell off my chair when the woman told me how big I could make it! As long as...

    Mercedes G Wagon

I like the G-wagon myself, quite a nice truck. I did a chainsaw test with a guy who had one, he got stuck and I pulled him out with my D90 that I had at the time :D They don't have the ground clearance of a Defender, that is a down side. The rest of it, build quality and diff locks etc, seems...

    Transfer box weirdness

    The nob is the right way around. Layout like this... D I - L F / F - N L / O - H C K I don't get it. Has it been rebuilt the wrong way around or something?

    It's squeeking! Help!

Thanks for that little snip of info, you've saved me a lot of searching! Most of my old landy books are still in a box from when I moved house! I've got a key set for all these odd shaped fittings. I wish I'd have known a 1/2" socket driver fitted the diffs and gearbox before I bought it though!

    Transfer box weirdness

I had a bit of a confused moment earlier. When I took the landy out for a test drive I played with all the gears to check they worked ok. Diff lock, low range etc. I've been crawling it up on to some big logs so I can get underneath it more easily and had it in low range to do so. Anyway, to get...

    It's squeeking! Help!

I've greased all but one UJ, the nipple is snapped off of the last one! Anyone know what thread they have so I can replace it? I don't think that's where the squeek is coming from as it's the rear UJ nipple that's broken and the noise is coming from the front. I've also had a look at the hub but...

Yeah, that is gay! Looks like the sort of thing you'd find on a halfords trailer :D

I know. Usually I look at things in exactly the same way, I like to buy the best I can afford. The trouble is I'm not going to be using it much. Once my landy is rebuilt and sprayed the chances are it will just sit around and pump up the odd tyre now and again! I've got a lot of tools that are...

    Stonehaven, Aberdeenshire to Gloucestershire

Thanks for all the replies guys. I'm trying to get some postage details from the seller, but if he wont post them I'll get back to you. I'm sure a few beer tokens would come your way for the favour :)
