Does water in the boot actually hurt anything?

Every freelander I have looked at has had water in the boot or smelly carpet. I've decided I am not to worried about this and will have a look at the fixes posts which seem to be in abundance. I have an idea how to sort it. However, is there any problems with corrosion/damage if the problem...

Ebay service packs - any good or source indivually?

Just purchased a 2001 TD4 automatic. It doesn't have any history and I prefer to keep on top of things. History didn't bother me as long as it looked and drove well. Usually not a lost cause if they pull well enough. Anyway, just want to keep it running up to spec. This pack any good or...

    Freelander CD/head unit

Hi guys, I do love my audio. Purchased an ES TD4 earlier with the CD changed under the seat and tape/radio up in the dash. I haven't got the car yet but on the test drive tried to turn it on. Nothing came on the screen and it beeped at me. Do these stereos get locked? I'm half tempted to...

Does anybody know this car? Previous owner?

Well, only gone and got it. Looked at a couple today and this one was great! Can't wait to detail it though (what I do for a living). In all fairness the paint wasn't too bad. No rust anywhere - which was important to me. It did have a bit of a scrape but it had been filled and hasn't...

Is the 1.8 really that bad?

Well, I ended up getting the td4 I was after originally so no need to worry about the 1.8. I've always said how I could never own the notorious rover engine.

Does anybody know this car? Previous owner?

I've decided it is worth a look but on closer inspection I'm not totally convinced its worth the price. The leather is cracked on the drivers seat, the steering wheel looks a little worn in places. I'm been picky here and understand its an older car etc but its top price for the age/millage. To...

Is the 1.8 really that bad?

I'm used to working on mx5s and I can assure you they are at the opposite end of height and they are back breaking too. Especially changing spark plugs etc as they are right in the middle towards the rearif the bay and constantly leaning over.

That's great buddy. Thanks. I like both the hardbacks and 5 doors. I think the 3door hardbacks look good but the 5 doors seems to have much more space.

    Interchangability of interior?

Yeah, thats what I'm thinking. Had a quick look on the bay and can pick up the interiors. Not cheap cheap but not massivly expensive either -if that makes sense lol.

Are the rover diesel engines the xdi or what ever? pre 2001? They are nice and cheap! I was just under the impression the td4 was the one to go for. I really enjoyed the drive in the td4 today, more so than the 1.8 I tried yesterday.

We have spoken, again his is an auto and slightly more than I wanted to pay. If I don't find anything else I may have time to gather a bit more money up though. However, I have a wedding and expensive honeymoon to pay for :(

Nice paint job! Do those soft tops resist water well or are they only meant for a light shower/shade?
  13. G

    Interchangability of interior?

Just wondering if the interiors are interchangeable throughout the different specs? I'm off to look at a td4 with a horrible cloth interior tomorrow. If I could leather seats/rear ones/ door cards etc would I be able to swap them straight over? I know heated leather wouldn't be quite so...

    Synergy 2 and Pierburg maf

If I'd found my freelander I'd have ripped your hand off pal. I'll let you know how tomorrows hunt goes. I take it it fits the td4?

Ah, I looked at the wrong bit earlier. I thought the bit on the top right of the post was the post date. Looked again and its the join date!

Ron, the only ones I have found which are in that price bracket that don't initially need a lot spending on them are 1.8s. I found a td4 for 1200 but it had many many problems. I feel like I have exhausted most of the localish ones. (within 50 miles). I've checked piston heads, ebay...

Good spotting, the silver doesn't bother me on the back but coolant could possibly be an issue. So, does this have those flappy paddles? I've tried a newer renault with the flappy paddles and they were dire. I think it looks awesome though! Just don't wanna keep wasting my petrol.

Yeah, unless the guy forgot on the phone. Worth looking being an auto? I imagine its going to be dog slow? At least they don't have a clutch that will go. Only problem is it is a little far to go and see if I like the auto.

Does anybody know this car? Previous owner?

Just been having a look on ebay as my seach continues. Found this and it looks right up my street. More than I wanted to pay but if it's worth it then might worth a punt! Going to get up for as soon as they open tomorrow at 11am. The garage owner said the previous owner was in the land...

Is the 1.8 really that bad?

Right had a good drive in a 2.0 TD4 today and powerwise it was more than enough. It isn't the sort of car you drive fast any way lol. I've also made my mind up I much prefered the td4 to drive than the 1.8. So that is a defo! It's hard finding one when your so picky! Saw a lovely one today...
