Anyone know where to get these??

I have loooked at these before. You can get them in Australia, but I suspect it would be fairly dear. CSW Gullwing Door for Land Rover Defender | Buy 4x4 Land Rover Toyota Nissan Accessories and Parts Online Store | Expedition Centre Australia by Mulgo

    HDC "Black Box"

Hello all, I am still trying to find the missing wiring for my HDC switch. I cannot see it inside the area above the transmission tunnel, and I am now wondering whether I can start at the HDC "Black Box" and work my way back from there. Can someone tell me where this black box is and if...

    Hub Cap Leak

There was a tiny bit of oil sitting in the cap when I removed it to have a look. I seem to recall that it was a slightly milky colour. Is this a sign of water contamination? I couldn't tell if it was contaminated grease or EP90. Hopefully the inner axle seal is not leaking as that would be a...

    Hub Cap Leak

One of my rear hub caps (the little plastic things) seems to have started leaking. I found that the wheel was covered in oil after a 4WD trip yesterday, and when I checked the cap it seemed to be looser than all the others. I am a bit annoyed as I only replaced that particular cap last year, so...

    HDC Wiring - Missing!

I took the gear knob off and then removed the gator to try and find this wiring, but could not see it anywhere. What I want to know is where the wires normally run to, then I may be able to investigate the other end of the connection as well.

    HDC Wiring - Missing!

I have been investigating why the HDC on my 1999 Freelander does not work. The lights come up on the dash when the ignition is turned on, which apparently is a good sign. I thought then that it might be the well-known problem with the wiring around the switch on the gear-lever. However, when...

90 painted with first coat Hmmmm ??

Sorry to say it Landyowner but I agree with everyone else. The bumper, rear cros-member, detailing and - if possible - the roof need to be black to smarten it up. At the moment it looks a bit like a child's toy:) Black mudguard edging will help as well.

Hi! ..& thoughts on Defender for everyday car, please?

Before buying one, why not go for a test drive with your family, and make sure you go for a blast on the motorway to see what the comfort and noise levels are like at speed. If you know anyone who owns a late model Defender then all the better as you can go for a very thorough test drive.

    huffi's slooow rebuild

Looking good. The transformation is impressive, I admire your determination with this project. Out of interest, how is the chassis?

Finally arrived, ex-mil 110 soft top

1st things first, make sure you are turning the key far enough to make the glow plugs acutally work, you have to push the key against a spring and hold it - a light in the dash should come on (I doubt this is the problem but you ever know). Also, I would add some advice a mechanic gave me...

    Aaron's 90 rebuild

It is a nice double cab. What year is it?

What have you done to your Landie today.

I've treated myself to a big spacecase for my 4WDing gear in the back of the Ninety, so I have installed some load-securing points in the load bay to anchor the case. The idea is that now if I have a rollover I won't be killed by 4wd gear flying around the vehicle:)

    205s to 235 85 16 mods needed?

235's are a much better size, but I should point out that 2 seconds of internet research would have shown that they fit no problem. They are standard on the new Defenders.

    Rubberised paint on the bumper

Probably the sort of thing you are after. I used this when I coated my chassis. In terms of the front bumper, I would recommend getting it galvanised, otherwise it will inevitably rust again. Underseal Rubberized Undercoating :3M US

    LT77 4th Gear Worn

Since I bought it, 4th gear has been worn in my 1986 Ninety. By that I mean it crunches when you change into 4th unless you double the clutch "just so...". The Ninety originally had a 2.5 petrol, so the gearbox is an LT77. I suspect that to remedy the problem the gearbox needs to be taken...

Air springs! I can see you are the sort of man who can't just be satisfied with a 6x6. It needs air suspension too! I will be following this thread with great interest.
